    The Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge

    Situated in the Berkshires where Norman Rockwell spent the last 25 years of his career, this museum features the most significant collection of his works. Many of his greatest pieces, as well as a full collection of 322 Saturday Evening Post covers, are on display. Other exhibits are featured regularly.

    Chesterwood Estate and Museum

    The Chesterwood Estate was the 1920's home and studio of French sculptor Daniel Chester, made famous for creating the seated Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Museum tours are available, highlighting working models and reproductions of Chester's artwork.

    Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum

    The Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum aims to commemorate the history of the railroad in the Berkshire Hills. Tourist train rides between Lenox Station and Stockbridge are offered through the museum by informative guides. Tours are given on a diesel locomotive that was used in the 1950s and vintage coaches from the 1920s. A restored coach houses a permanent exhibit that features the history of the railroad in the area, as well as historic photographs of the Berkshire Cottages.

    Chapin Library of Rare Books

    Located on the campus of Williams College, this library houses a number of founding documents of the United States, including original printings of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Each year the library features a number of exhibitions showcasing rare books, manuscripts and other materials.

    This former paper mill was converted into a museum offering a look at paper-making in the past in 1930. There is a scale model of the paper-making process in the museum.

    Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute

    This institute is a museum and research center, dedicated to "advancing the public understanding of art." Most of the permanent collection was donated by Sterling and Francine Clark, including many books and works of art, and several Renoir paintings.

    The Museum of the Gilded Age at Ventfort Hall

    The Museum of the Gilded Age at Ventfort Hall is housed in an Elizabethan-style mansion that was built in 1893. The mansion is partially restored to its original state and is open to the public. Lectures, exhibits, theatrical performances and other events are often held at the museum. The exterior of Ventfort Hall was used as St. Cloud's Orphanage in the 1998 film, Cider House Rules.
